You can order your cards online here . From the 9th to the 20st of December 2024 and from the 7th to the 16th of January 2025 you can also buy your tickets directly from us at the Ball Office at Schwarzenbergplatz 1, daily from 2 to 6 pm. We only accept cash.

Online purchase: EPS bank transfer (only for Austrian bank accounts), Paypal (bank transfer and credit cards available by PayPal).
Ticket sales at the office: Cash.

Ladies: Floor length evening dress, full dress uniform or mess dress uniform
Gentlemen: White tie or black tie with dinner jacket (tailcoat), full dress uniform or mess dress uniform

We reserve the right to deny access to the ball if the dresscode requirements are not met.

By taxi:
Since the entrance to the Hofburg is at Heldenplatz 1, it is recommended to travel via the Ringstraße - Heldentor - Heldenplatz. This address is well-known by all taxi drivers. Please note that many taxis drive up before the ball starts so there may be traffic jams. Tip: In good weather, get off at Heldenplatz and walk the few steps to the Hofburg entrance.

By car:
Parking in the immediate vicinity of the Hofburg can be tricky due to the very limited number of parking slots. Furthermore please keep in mind that there is a short-term parking zone (parking fee) in effect until 10 p.m. We would also like to point out that parking in the spaces reserved for the OSCE is prohibited, all cars parked there without permission will be towed away. Parking garages are located in the area of Museumsquartier and Freyung as well as next to the Rathaus (town hall).

By public transport:
By metro: Metro line U3 station Herrengasse (ascent Minoritenplatz), from there you can reach the Hofburg via a 3 minute walk towards Heldenplatz.
By tram: Station Burgring, from there you can reach the Hofburg via a 3 minute walk towards Heldenplatz.

The cloakroom is situated past the entrance to the left (see floor plan - Gardehalle I) and is free. We kindly ask you to, if possible, progress to the rear part of the cloakroom in order to avoid any backlog since there will be many guests at the cloakroom at the beginning of the ball.

We offer dance music in various styles on 7 floors. Waltzes will primarily be played in the main ballroom (see floor plan - Festsaal) and in the ceremonial hall. On the other floors there will be a mix of music for standard dances as well as latin american dances. The disco is located in the garden hall.
The popular Fledermaus-Quadrille (a traditional dance-along) will be danced after the midnight show at about 12.30 a.m. in the main ballroom (see floorplan - Festsaal) and announced by the dance master (in English and German). Please note that there are always two couples dancing the quadrille vis-à-vis.
At 01.30 a.m. a folk music quartet will offer typical Austrian folk music and dances will be shown to join in. The playing and break times of the dance music bands can be found in the program.

The catering company MOTTO offers table service for all purchased seats. Furthermore, at the Hofburg-Galerie there is a buffet. We would like to point out that food and drinks are not included in the ticket price and must be paid seperately. The catering company MOTTO also offers an ordering and reservation service as well as payment for evening consumption by means of a customer card. Pricing is exclusively in the hands of MOTTO.
In case of any complaints or defects, please inform the ball office directly.

We kindly ask all guests to hand in lost property to the ball office (see floor plan) as soon as possible. Lost items can be reported or picked up at the ball office (until 4 a.m. on the day after the ball). After the ball we ask for an e-mail at: info@ballderoffiziere.at .

Smoking is prohibited in all rooms of the Hofburg. A smoking area has been prepared in front of the Hofburg to the left of the entrance (tent). To ensure re-entry, UV stamps are provided on the back of the hand.

Traditionally, every woman receives a gift as a souvenir of the ball. The distribution will take place from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the foyer at the Feststiege (main staircase) - for this the presentation of your ticket is required. Student tickets do not include a women’s gift. Additionally, upon leaving the ball all guests will receive a giveaway (while stocks last).

By purchasing a ticket for the ball, every attending guests permits the association Alt-Neustadt the use of any and all photo and film footage, which has been taken during the ball (livestreams, broadcasts, pictures, etc.), for publishing (via social media, website, etc.). In case of any publication, the portrayed guests will not be compensated in any way.
